Legends Committee
The Legends Committee is responsible for ensuring retired members of the club stay involved in the club, for helping maintain and engendering a club spirit amongst all members, for supporting new members on and off field, whilst staying within the club’s wider objectives and policies.
Actual Duties Involved
* Develop the 2011/2012 Legends Plan and Events
* Promote and publicise club social events with retired players
* Field a ‘Railway Legends XV’ three times a year against a veteran touring side
* Use selected events to raise funds for club
* Work with President, Social Committee and Executive Management committee
* Investigate possibility of fielding a ‘Railway Legends XV’ in Railway Overseas Tour 2011/12
* Ensure an active Legends portion of the new Railway website by working with the Promotion and Marketing Committee to put our 106 year history online
* Co-opt additional committee members, either on a fulltime basis or for adhoc events
* Co-opt appropriately skilled volunteers to assist in the organisation and/or running of an event
* Ensure a final reconciliation of income and expenditure is produced for each event
* Motivate retired members to attend club events and league matches
* Ensure all Legends are paid up pavilion members of the club
